Paige Schilt, LMSW
Paige Schilt believes that each client is an expert in their own experience, and she is passionate about building trusting and collaborative relationships. She holds a PhD. in English and a master's in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Before becoming a social worker, she spent more than two decades working with young adults as a college instructor and learning skills specialist. She has a life-long history of LGBTQ+ activism, including a two-year stint as the Director of National Media for the social justice organization Soulforce. In 2011, she was the invited keynote speaker for the Texas Transgender Nondiscrimination Summit, and she has presented at the Gender Odyssey conference on topics such as "Navigating Higher Education for Trans and GNC Students." In her former role as director of UT's Sanger Learning Center, she co-created and co-facilitated antiracism trainings for staff and students.
In graduate school, Paige interned in the LifeWorks' Community-Based Counseling unit, where she provided individual therapy for young adults with histories of complex trauma. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in the neurobiology of attachment and trauma.
